Not to hurt our humble brethren (the animals) is our first duty to them,
but to stop there is not enough. We have a higher mission--to be of service to them whenever they require it... If you have
men who will exclude any of God's creatures from the shelter of compassion and pity, you will have men who will deal likewise
with their fellow men. --Saint Francis of
Assisi (mystic and preacher)

And homeless near a thousand homes I stood, And near a thousand tables pined, and wanted food. ~William

Welcome to the C.A.T.S. site!
Caring for Animals
Through Service (C.A.T.S.) is an organization dedicated to finding permanent, loving homes for homeless companion animals
in Niagara. Every year thousands of dogs and cats are euthanized or die slow,
painful deaths out on their own because of Niagara's pet overpopulation. C.A.T.S.
wants to do its part by ensuring that the companion animals that come into its care are sterilized before they are adopted
out into the community. The C.A.T.S. motto is: "Every adopted animal a sterilized,
healthy animal." C.A.T.S. also subsidizes sterilization procedures for those
in financial need. In addition, one of the key aims of C.A.T.S. is to strengthen
public awareness as to the importance of the human/animal bond. C.A.T.S.' members
firmly believe that as we learn to understand animals, we glimpse ever deeper into parts of ourselves and find more joy and
richness in life.
Pets should be sterilized by the age of six
months if you want to be sure to avoid an unwanted litter. She may look like a baby herself, but at 6 months little
Missy can become a mama.
